Sky: Fresh bid goes in for striker

A new bid has been tabled for Gianluca Scamacca, according to Sky Sports.

They report that the Hammers have tabled an offer worth in excess of £34m for the striker, but his club, Sassuolo, value him at closer to £42m.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers will be willing to either up their bid, or if Sassuolo will be willing to drop their asking price.

The Irons have identified Scamacca as a potential back-up target to Armando Broja at Chelsea.

There remains some confusion over Broja’s status at Stamford Bridge, but David Moyes has put him at the top of his striker shortlist.

Scamacca is a target too, but the Irons may well be looking to cast their net wider than originally planned amid doubts in their Broja pursuit.

This is one to keep an eye on, but no deal will happen until the two clubs come to an agreement on the player’s valuation.

  1. If not Scamacca then go in for Martin Terrier Aguerds old teammate, he certainly knows where the goal is and scores all sorts of goals, we have een linked to him previously and better than the other options we have.

  2. Why don’t we just pay more and get the Player ?. All this waiting has not worked. Sassoulo have no intention of taking less than they have asked.

  3. Last week we apparently had a bid accepted for Scamacca. This week we now have to increase our bid. Some players,( i feel Scamacca being one of them), become far more valuable than what you paid for them initially but we always lose out in negotiations because we never want to pay what the selling club values the player at. Jessie Lingard? Willing to pay 10 million last season but cant give him what he was asking for as a free agent this season even though it was probably less money than we were willing to give Man Utd. We are our own worst enemy when it comes to transfers

  4. We can’t be sure Broja will sign we can’t be In a position of leaving it until the last minute . We also can’t risk Scamacca signing elsewhere if we don’t act we need to sign him as o can’t see Broja happening ! .
