Stepping in as a late substitute for Paul Merson, Charlie Nicholas offers up his thoughts on the penultimate weekend as he makes predictions for the Sky Sports website.
Nicholas says “I think Leicester have got their speedos on and I’m not a fan of their manager Claude Puel, so I can see West Ham getting something here. If anything Andy Carroll will be lucky to be on the bench again, despite apologising, but I actually think it could help David Moyes get a reaction out of him.
Charlie predicts: 1-1″
Personally, I will take a point at Leicester, it will make a change not conceding 3 goals.
We don’t have the ability to deliberately play for a draw . Going down that route will only cause us to concede another bucket load of goals . Don’t think we have any choice but to go all out for a convincing win . Give the team a means to prepare themselves for the hugely important two last games against Man Utd & Everton . Playing to win will give them that mental edge and also get the fans behind them . These players have a massive point to prove and today is the perfect opportunity .
COYHAMMERS
You are part of the problem Sean.
All season, it has been this willingness to “take a point” before a ball is kicked against poor and out of form teams that has got us into this mess.
I make no apology, I want a win that’s what we should be playing for.
Hey there mate..
Sean works very hard in the interests of our club..
Sean is just putting forward an opinion, so deserves more respect from all C&H readers alike.
To suggest that Sean is ‘part of the problem’ reflects the opinion of someone who has much to learn about football and treating people with dignity and integrity. Think before you write!
I am not disrespecting Sean, I am also just putting forward an opinion. I thought the whole point of a blog is for us all to express our opinions. I stand by my opinion that the willingness to continually settle for a point, against poor teams we should be beating, has helped to put us in the current situation, whether that stance is taken by Sean or Moyes or both.
If we followed your logic, Sean should not comment on anyone at the club because they all work harder than him in the clubs interests.
You need to think before you write.
