Sky pundit predicts West Ham New Year cheer

|

paul-merson-2Sky pundit Paul Merson predicts West Ham will start 2018 with a win at the London Stadium tonight as they face West Bromwich Albion.

Merson wrote on the Sky sports website “This a tricky one. West Brom have been making chances but they just haven’t got a goalscorer. They are probably creating more under Alan Pardew but their problem at the end of the season will be the lack of goals. West Ham will get back to winning ways here. PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1″

The Baggies are winless in 19 top-flight games this season – only three clubs have endured longer runs without a victory in the Premier League: Derby with 32, Sunderland with 26 and Norwich with 21.

West Ham are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League home games against West Brom, although six of those have ended in draws, including each of the last four.

West Brom haven’t kept a clean sheet in both league games against West Ham in a season since 1976-77.
