Sky Sports: Hammers table bid

West Ham have made a bid worth €23m (£19.8m) for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

The reporter took to Twitter to post about the potential offer, insisting that the Irons have made their first offer for the 20-year-old.

Lille have rejected the bid and the Hammers are now weighing up whether or not to return with a second bid.

Onana has a lengthy contract that runs until 2026 and has impressed during his time with Lille, making 41 appearances in a variety of positions.

He can play as a defensive midfielder, as well as a central midfielder and a centre-back, and has scored three goals for the club.

Onana is a Belgium international, too, with one cap to his name, and the Hammers could well return with an improved offer.

We know that boss David Moyes needs to sign midfield reinforcements after both Mark Noble and Alex Kral left the club.
