“No deal” yet ,so some of us live in hope. The most divisive prospective free transfer – since the last one – is still hanging in the balance at West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.

The striker that Potter doesn’t want seemed to be on the verge of joining West Ham United but a deal has not yet been agreed, according to Sky Sports whose chief reporter Dharmesh Sheth reported a short while ago :

“West Ham are in talks with Callum Wilson’s representatives over a deal to sign him. Wilson is a free agent after his contract at Newcastle United expired earlier this month. Discussions centre on the length of contract”.

Better get used to it, West Ham fans. We can stay in denial as much as we like but the veteran striker is likely to be hobbling through the door at London Stadium any day now. Embarrassing. Unless he scores ten plus goals. In which case I promise a public apology and a ‘Wilson’ emblazoned first team shirt on my back for the rest of the season. I shudder at the thought.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

So if Wilson has been sat on the bench at Newcastle. Understandable since they had Isaak and he’s leaving because he wants to play football, what makes him think he’ll not just be sat on the bench at West Ham? Oh yes he knows we’ve only got Fullkrug who could get injured or Marshall who is still unproven at the highest level.

For God’s sake where is our ambition, our litany of broken promises from Sullivan and the board, and the understandable fury from our passionate, loyal fan Base? Callum bloody Wilson after we finally got rid of Danny Ings. 33 years old, he made 2 starts in the entire PL season with zero goals and assists and only 9 goals in 23/24 season FFS. He started only 71 out of 190 league matches at Newcastle and spent 15 times out injured, after missing 69 games and a massive 449 days after 2 ACL tears at Bournemouth. Why are we even thinking of signing him?

Whatever happened to the promises of building “ a world class team for a world class stadium”. Thank goodness I didn’t renew my ST, couldn’t bear to give another penny to Sullivan and watch my beloved West Ham get relegated if Sullivan and Brady stay.

  • Colin Cornell says:

Did you do that when Craig Dawson arrived after two relegations WBA and WAtford ?

  • Alan Carroll says:

Yet another cheap deal .If you are an out of contract ,available on a free transfer player ,injury prone or not please contact Mr D.Sullivan at West Ham United for a good deal.Even if it means sitting on the bench most of the time!

  • Dave says:

10 goals in a season, not if he signs for us, he got all his goals against us, so not sure who else he scores against…

  • Terry says:

No striker has got to be better than this crock

    • eastend hammer says:

I am disgusted with this club if reports are true…..I am ashamed to be a west ham supporter. The only pride i have is in our supporters who remain loyal and passionate, to be part of that is a honour and has been for all my life. The club its directors and backers should crawl away and give the club back to those that love and cherish it.

  • Chunk says:

Antonio, Wilson and Calvert-Lewin all on a pay as you play basis, surely with them 3 and Fullkrug, one must be fit in a certain period of time while the other 3 are injured. 🤣🤣. Only joking of course

  • Rob says:

Potter don’t want him, fan’s don’t want him, why would you sign, unless it’s just for the money. Be warned Mr Sulivan!

  • Geoff scores six says:

Last night, I had a had one horrific nightmare. Before I go on, I’ve always felt that relating a dream pleasant or otherwise to anyone else, is something akin to showing work colleagues your holiday snaps, a not very pleasant experience, where you nod politely while seriously considering ending it all.. But on this occasion, I thought all and sundry at the Happy Hammers glee club, that whether I like It or not, I am a fully paid up member, can read how this thing played out and have a good laugh at my expense, This is how it went.
I was looking at the Claret and Hugh site as I will do from time to time, concerning my beloved West Ham United, who were in talks to sign and actually pay good money to a broken down crock who spends far more time on the treatment table than on the pitch. A man who as mocked us, and from what I have observed hates us. And just in case he is living under any illusions, the feeling is mutual. The whole thing is ridiculous I know, cos there’s no way it can’be the truth, or can it?

  • mark wiggins says:

This should not happen be paying his wages for being in the treatment room . Too old no way Sullivan stop it now not happy

  • PB61 says:

Here’s an idea, instead of everyone throwing their toys out of their prams, why dont we actually wait and see what happens?! If he does sign then give the guy a chance. You never know, he might even score a goal or 2.

  • MJ says:

If Callum Wilson signs he will be considered by many as the footballing face of David Sullivan, there’s a real danger he will get shed loads from abuse from fans, almost Ince like proportions. I just hope someone at the club sees sense and he doesn’t get signed.

  • Barry says:

I would rather have kept Danny Ings to be honest, Martin. At least he was on the bench if we needed him. Unlike Wilson who will probably be on the treatment table most of the season.
I think I’ve had it with this club for the foreseeable future. No more paying extortionate prices for the for latest shirts etc. I don’t get to go to the home games very often, because I’m usually working. But always try and get a ticket for a game when I get some spare time. But I’m not going to bother this season.
Until the club is sold to someone who wants to invest and take us forward, I’ll just look out for the scores to see how crap we are performing.
The only shining light is the young players we have coming through into the first team. I hope they can prove me wrong and help push us up the table towards the Europe positions. But it is a big ask for the boys.
So much for the ‘exciting’ transfer window Potter told us we would have. Unless something changes drastically in the next couple of weeks. But I doubt it. Callum ‘Bloody’ Wilson!

  • Jeeps says:

Didn’t want Newcastle deal pay when you play.
Has question marks all over him.
    Similar situation as Antonio.
Whu should only offer both of them same deal if any.

  • JOHN RIPPENGALE says:

If it’s a one year deal, or pay as you play, i don’t have a problem with it, obviously too old, But we’d have(and still might) kept Antonio, if he was 33, similar player, better goal scorer, But, plagued by injuries, it’s a shot to nothing, but need a younger striker as well.

  • HammerDan says:

I think a contract term of 3 would be good.

3 weeks that is, long enough for him to get injured, then we can kick him out the door and breath a sigh of relief we’re not going to have another blood sucker draining cash out of the club.

I’d rather see Callum Marshall get the nod than see Wilson rock up at our club.

  • Harvey Fox says:

I very you he scores more goals than Fulkrug, Marshall and Antonio (if he’s still at the club)

  • Jonboy says:

A short term contract will be worth it… Perhaps you have seen the queue of 20 something strikers who scored 30 goals a season and are falling over themselves to join us…. Because I haven’t…It doesn’t exist.

    • Julian Woodhouse says:

Sorry there are far better options than a 33 year old crock who hasn’t scored in a year. Oh look him and Fullkrugs combined age would be 66, makes a lot of sense that one, not, other than Sullivan doing his best to create chaos and disaster again, so wish he’d sell up and be gone.

  • Frustrated says:

If we get Wilson I can absolutely guarantee that at some point during the season Wilson and fullkrug will both be out injured.

  • Bill says:

SULLIVAN OUT this story alone is proof he has killed the club let alone the long list of failures

    • Paul Taylor says:

Nobody other than Sullivan with no shame would ever consider giving this @@@@@@@@@a contract, unwanted by Newcastle and about every other premiership club it’s pathetic and embarrassing. Sullivan is long past his sell by date as is Brady and the pathetic cartel of sycophants pretending to be a board of directors. No more Boleyn, a kit pretending to be Heart’s, it’s no longer the team I’ve supported for sixty odd year’s.

    • Dudley Tyler says:

So if Antonio had not had his accident there’s a fair chance that the plan might have been to have a year or two extension on his contract, to have a second or perhaps third striker for the bench. Is this dramatically worse?
