Sky Sports Link West Ham With Stunning Move for Bundesliga Star

West Ham have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s outstanding midfielder Exequiel Palacios. And this report hasn’t come from some dubious outlet nobody’s heard of—it’s come from Sky Sports News.

The 26-year-old Argentinian is regarded as one of the most complete midfielders in Europe and, if we’re being honest, probably a bit too good for where West Ham are right now. Just three months ago, Palacios was being linked with a move to Real Madrid. Yet this morning, Sky claim he’s a target for the Irons.

The idea that West Ham are even attempting to sign a player of this calibre is hard to believe—never mind actually pulling it off—so I won’t be getting overly excited just yet.

That said, Sky also report that the club retains a strong interest in Jacob Ramsey and are very much in the market for midfield reinforcements.

Sky seem to be in overdrive this morning, with updates on John Victor’s transfer saga and now this major development in the Hammers’ midfield search.

While the chances of West Ham landing Palacios seem slim to none, it’s vital the club address a key problem area.

Interestingly, Palacios himself hinted earlier in the summer that he may not stay at Leverkusen, telling South American media: ā€œThe transfer window is open and there’s plenty of time, but I’m relaxed, training and preparing for the start of the Bundesliga. My mind is now on Leverkusen. We’ll see what happens later.ā€

He added: ā€œI always dream of returning to River. But right now my mind is on Leverkusen, in Europe. I’m not thinking about going back.ā€

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender šŸ˜¬āš’ļø Irons

I started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

I give West Ham opinions and interviews on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus. Former video and content creator for West Ham United back in the days of Upton Park. I was lucky enough to feature in the documentary broadcast on that final wonderful game at the Boleyn when Winston Reid broke Manchester United hearts.

I frequently feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

More West Ham moaning is done on a daily basis here šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

  • Iron57 says:

As good as it would be to see Palacios and/or Ramsey ina West Ham shirt, we all know that Josh Brownhill on a free is the more likely signing.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Only way am believing this is if Alvarez or Paqueta is being sold and even then doubt he would want the move.

  • mark wiggins says:

That will be we tried and failed DS crap

  • Paul Ivory says:

Sullivan would quite happily flog Paqueta and Bowen if he can and sign cheap Salthouse clients if any to save face. He is a fraud of an owner and not a real fan if the club he moved away from our real home.

    • Julian Woodhouse says:

We have become a club with no credibility and zero class and ambition under Sullivan’s watch and there is no way that Palacios would end up at the LS, we can’t even sign a midfielder from the Belgian league.

  • Timbo says:

It’s just a typo. We’re after any ex Palace players without a contract.

  • Murdo Durrant says:

More chance of them signing me at the age of 69! Load of BS, does Sullivan really think our fans are stupid enough to buy this! He’ll of Ā£25M plus add ons for a player worth twice that and whine ā€œwe triedā€

  • John Y says:

Go go go Sullivan put in your two bob offer. This geezer is deluded. Does he still think we don’t know what he’s up to?
We ain’t buying him we ain’t buying anyone. Straight down to the championship that’s where we are going with the midfield and goal keeper we’ve got.

  • D says:

Exequiel Palacios Is world class. Can’t see it happening. Mind you we’ve made a few cheap some might say astute signings in other areas so maybe there’s a bit of dosh left over for a big signing or two.

  • CB says:
