Slav and Champions League: ‘We have a chance’

bilicsmilesSlaven Bilic finds himself in a situation like few Hammers managers before him!

He and the team stand one point behind the North London team with the Champions League looking more possible than at any stage so far this season.

But don’t expect him to talk it up although he happily declares: “All I can say is we’re not afraid of that and we’re going to do everything to win every game until the end of the season.”

How many times before has an Irons boss been able to not only say such a thing but have the fans believing it may actually be possible!

Asked if Champions League qualification is on he added:“I’ve no problem saying that but we’re not thinking that way. The league is so tight, I would say definitely we have a chance of getting there.

“If you ask me whether we are thinking about it realistically and starting to be a little bit big-headed about the Champions League, no, we are not.

“We know that we are West Ham and enjoying the season and we are respecting every opponent we play without being afraid of them – and that’s it.”

What a difference…what an amazing difference to the rubbish managerial quotes we’ve had to suffer in the past  – bring it on.

  1. The wally with the pad ? Said that hippo left a good side for Slav ????
    Payet , ogbonna , obiang , Antonio , zarate , lanzini , moses , tommo @r/b,
    WHAT A WALLY !!!!!!!!!!!
A sammette? Or is it that Slav got him sacked and then beat him 2-0. @ U.P.
C/L its a possibility as you only qualify on merit ! Are we ready for it ? Maybe with a few more additions but that would mean a few moving on ! Who would you move on , its early days with Slav and he is still building ! A little bit early for C/L IMO but if we get there it means we deserve the crack!
Personally I’m happy to have my team back and 3 points today will be luvly Jubly !!!

  2. We have as good squad as any of the top 6 a part from Man City,
But they have a dodgy defence and we only have that when Jenkinson is in it,
Today we need 3 points not to avoid defeat,
Can’t bring myself any more to talk about the numerous morons that want to knock our club to stay loyal to the old guard,
The future is the younger managers and the old ones that move with the game,
Hippo,Wenger,Van Excuse, days are now numbered unless they want to be in the championship or some minor country,
Others such as Morinio need to look at the game and change there ways if they want a future club first managers part of the team not dictatorships
    Slav lead the way
