Manager Slaven Bilic has given no indication to the board that he wants to bring Demba Ba back to Upton Park.
Despite stronger and stronger speculation that the boss is ready to swoop for his former Besiktas striker ClaretandHugh has learned that the player’s name hasn’t been mentioned at any stage.
Ba hammered 27 goals in 44 appearances for the Turkish club last season and it was reported earlier today that a bid would be welcomed by his club.
However, despite his scoring record which included seven goals in 12 for the Irons in 2011 there are no imminent moves planned for him by the new boss.
We were told by a top insider: “At no time has the player’s name been mentioned by Slaven although he has two or three in mind and we shall back him.
Not interested in Ba,he never stays for long with anyone and I think we need to keep a squad together for 4 or 5 years,
Don’t blame him for leaving after we got relegated but wee were the only ones at the time to give him a chance in England
Too mercenary for me and getting on in years.Ba humbug!
Im undecieded on Ba,would probably give him a miss i think.
I think Ba is 30. Build a younger team and omit Ba.
