Slav brings good and bad injury news

bilic2Record signing Andre Ayew will be sidelined for a few weeks after suffering a thigh strain on his first Hammers start against Chelsea.

Manager Slaven Bilic brought good news and bad news today declaring: “”We will wait to get the results on Andre and hopefully it is not that bad. It will be weeks and not days unfortunately.

“”We will find out in the next couple of hours.”

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the Europa League game against Astra Giurgiu on Thursday, Bilic added though that he expected Manu Lanzini would be back in action within a week.

The Hammers will be looking to bring a healthy lead back from Rumania tomorrow night and a club spokesman said: “The manager has brough a very strong squad but cards are being played close to his chest on the likely line up.”

  1. Down to one proven striker then hardly the new exciting dawn we had all hoped for.

  2. Been a reader of this site for years. First time I have left a comment!!!

Twenty million and lasts half an hour. PLEASE someone tell me why athletes like Andy Murray can run around at full pelt for four hours (and I mean full pelt) without pulling a muscle?? Why is it so hard for certain footballers?? Injuries are one thing – but muscle strains/tears after so little exertion! PLEASE.

    • Pampered puffs with no self dedication ? Bonds mooro dicksy played in mud baths and got up the next day and went in to train then went on the juice , then done it all again ,
      Valid point clinton !!.

  3. oh so we play a midfielder at RB, and when our forward has to defend because there is no other player near the right hand side of our box – he gets injured. And who takes responsibility for they way the team is set up ?

  4. Andy Murray goes to Miami every off season & trains like a dog.Thats the difference. He puts the hours in so his body doesn’t break down. Not like these lot who train for 2 or 3 hours then go home to play on their X-Boxes.

  5. Four months is hardly a few weeks, I do sill believe we are in need of further reinforcements.

  6. Bony Bony Bony
    Now Now Now
Woder what freebie we will end up with this time,
By tomorrow the stats will be out how much we have spent and how we are restricted by fair play,
Now we will be stuck with Valencia for ever,
Remy could be available if we get moving

    • Amen bubs , especially now that he has been left out of CL squad and hasnt even been on the bench , if we can get him for the 13million quoted he would be the best signing this season imho…..bony bony bony ..oi oi oi ….

  7. BUBS you are very persistent with Bony. I think we are ok up top if Sakho stays. I would personally like Slimani. In any case it’s a top RB we need as we can then move Antonio up front even !!

  8. Well no one can blame Chadwell Heath on our injuries this year. All the blowing of hot air about it last season.

  9. Don’t care who he plays, as long as he restores Antonio to RW!

  10. Well the new lb can’t play on Thursday so does Byram play lefback,i suppose so.So who plays rb???? Antonio I expect

    • Lets hope bilic has got this antonio RB stuff out of his system rick…..another option would be to stick oxford in the middle partnering collins or reid stick oggy at LB and let byram play his natural position

  11. Good job ayew doesn’t play tennis then because he might do himself a nasty injury and smash into the net before he managed to build up any kind of decent sprint speed. Ha ha

  12. Just not cricket is it ??

  13. Play Antonio up front – Not exactly rocket science is it ?
