Slav: “My Irons will play with flair.”

bilicwhBoss Slaven Bilic has claimed his Irons will be “successful” in dominating games by playing ‘flair’ football.

With the Hammers on the move to the OS in  2016, he plans to introduce a different brand of football under the new boss than that often endured under previous manager Sam Allardyce.

Slav told West Ham TV: “The fans can expect that we will try to be dominant, play with the ball and try to play good football.

I’m very optimistic that we’re going to be successful in that, but also we have to be very stable.

“The defensive and organisation will give you the privilege to play with flair. Everything comes from good organisation.”

  1. Hugh if you could just send me the next lottery numbers you’ll round off my day perfectly lol

  2. The defensive and organisation will give you the privilege to play with flair. Thats what I like to hear. none of the airy fairy stuff.
As the great John Lyall used to say, We need to win our battles before we have the right to play our passing game ( the real west ham way )

  3. Fishes you are not suggesting there is a West Ham Way,
Go into hiding you will be hunted down and thrown to the monkeys
Funny old world how things change so quickly and we haven’t played a game yet

  4. We finally we have a manager who has ambition, we can look forward to a whole new playing style. Try to dominate games & not grab a goal & shut up shop for 80 mins.
even if we still finish around mid-table we can be sure that we will be entertained.

    • And that Essex is the point so many seem to miss. High league places and cup wins would be lovely but I just want to escape the humdrum and enjoy West Ham for a few hours a week.

  5. Bring back passion, players that want to play not just want the money. Players that don’t spit their dummies out if they are not picked every week. If not in team, work harder to do their best to get there. Cut out the pointless loans of players who come in & are hardly played.

  6. everthing depends on our transfer business. If we get 5 – 6 quality players in dominating becomes a realistic aim. If not then we struggle to dominate.
If he plays 4-2-3-1 then we need players for the 3 creative positions who can create and also scorw goals. We didnt have that when Sam played that formation. I’m sure the recruitment drive this year will concentrate on that.

  7. Agreed we need a few in but we also need some of the ones already there to step up to the poet and prove they merit a position. I don’t agree that BFS ever played that formation it was 451 and as he respected the point, mistrusted talent and had no tactical nous no comparison can be made. Slav will bring fresh and flexible ideas and the team can only improve for that.

    • If it looked like 4-5-1, it was because the 3 creative players couldn’t create or score goals.
No manager could teach them what they can’t do.
Jarvis – Nolan – Downing. How is that creative? How does that score goals? No fault of there own, and Sam bought them all. A miscalculation at best ( although each one played there part to get us established in the prem ). It’s time to put that straight.

      • I think sleeps we’re pretty much in agreement but possibly from a different angle and maybe different proportion of blame. The main thing is that’s the past and we both know what we want from West Ham in the future.
