Slaven Bilic has given a straightforward view of the situation that forced the Hammers boss to discipline wayward ace, Morgan Amalfitano.
Speaking at the Hammers pre-match press conference, Bilic revealed: “The news is out that I have disciplined one of my players, Morgan Amalfitano, for a breach of rules.
“I would just say that my first and foremost job is to protect the whole team, myself, the staff and players.
“If I see anything or anyone threatening to harm the atmosphere and transgress those rules, then it has to be stopped. I haven’t changed much; Sam Allardyce had some great rules, and I am sure they haven’t changed for a long time.
“They are basic rules and if they are under threat, then I have to step in. I have to protect the team.
“My job is to protect to the team, to keep the side as a unit in the best possible way,” he added. “Morgan is not part of the first team squad for this week. But the whole situation was not as bad as was written in the papers.”
The only rule hippo had, well two actually! Play downing and let’s lose to leister and Newcastle.

Really aint into all this hoof them out straight away.The geezer screwed up.Give him a chance to show he will toe the line.If he doesnt then bin him.On his day he can be a decent p!ayer or impact sub.Saw him come on last season & make a big difference in some games when we were lacking someone to open a door.Payet aint going to be about for every match unless we get damn lucky.Lanzini we dont really know too much about & no Downing this year.
Show him the door, can’t afford to lose the dressing room. First player to push Slav so make a big example of him. No great loss
Impressed with the way Slavan has handled this. Dealt with the situation nice and early to prevent it getting out of hand and at the same time showing what will not be tolerated. Not making a big drama.
Dealt with Morgan and he pays the price this weekend but everybody moves on.
You get the feeling if Morgan toes the line in future it will be forgotten about.
If not, time to move on.

Morgan only had to hold his hand up say sorry and move on,he decided to push the boss and has paid the price
