We finished in 12th place, same points as Everton (47) who Finished in eleventh one place above us only thanks to a better goal difference. In the scheme of things you could say us and Everton are pretty much on a par at this moment in time.

Your mentality is typical of some of our fans these days Canchaz.Thinking that teams like Everton are ones we should beat. Its rubbish. We finished 13th last season,we aint suddenly turned into world-beaters.

We are supposed to have a strong enough team this year to ride out the, inevitable, injuries. So now it’s time to see if that’s true. We haven’t had Valencia all season, so really it is Payet that is the key injury and we should have Sakho back for our next game, who we seem to miss more than anyone.
All this though should not detract from the fact this was another disappointing result against yet .one more team we should be beating if we aspire to be near the top.
We seem to have lost that edge that brought us some big wins, which has resulted in a slide from a team that scored at will, to our old problem of finding the net.
This game also emphasized that the kind of team Slav’s put together has no place for Carroll other than as an impact sub.

My view entirely. And not just for this game. As close rivals for league position this was about taking him or for as long as possible. Forgive the conspiracy theory but the nature of the tackle to Payet leaves me wondering.

Confirms what I said in other posts. Mission was to demolish. Not a coincidence two of our three creative players were taken off with serious injury.

    Shame on you Roberto Martinez.
