Slav praises the player who has “everything”

fernandes1Slaven Bilic is thrilled with the impact made by Edmilson Fernandes.
The youngster has made an immediate impact since being drafted into the team in Aaron Cresswell’s absence and holding his place against Chelsea and scoring a magnificent goal.
That’s delighted the manager who said: “It’s a great thing to see him make an impact like he has. It’s always great to see a new player doing well, especially if it’s a young player like he is.

“We shouldn’t forget that he’s only 20-years-old, he came to a new country and doesn’t speak great English, so it was probably hard for him.

“But since the first day, he has been really good and positive and very brave in training and you could see from the start that he’s a very talented player.

“He is very comfortable on the ball in different positions and I’m sure that him, the club, the fans and all of us are going to benefit from him, big time. He has got everything.”

  1. I want to see him given a chance in his natural position aka as a replacement for Noble, he looks to good a talent to waste as a utility player and if he is better than Noble and we play better as a team with him in that position he should keep it. Obviously the team needs leadership preferably from a number of positions but it might be that we need to find some new leaders e.g. Ayew, Payet, we have Reid but Adrian could take more leadership responsibility also, plus we have Cressie, Lanzini etc

  2. This kid Fernandes really does Look like a star in the making. But for Christ sake can’t we play it low key for once? Take the pressure off of the boy publicly and don’t draw attention to him. His performances will ultimately show just how good he is. After all we don’t want the vultures to start circling. Or is this just my paranoia after 30 years of selling our better players!
