Slaven Bilic is tonight still sitting in his London hotel waiting to see a contract that will make him West Ham United’s new manager.
The former player has been in the country since Saturday and although numerous phone calls have been made since his interview discussing issues connected with the job, a contract still hasn’t been put in front of him.
One source suggested that could be down to work permit clearance which will be required for the Croat to take over.
Marcelo Bielsa is believed to remain in the running as despite reports he has still not signed a new deal with Marseilles as widely expected.
And despite the co owners remaining seriously worried about his lack of English given the number of crucial issues that need discussing, they have never ruled the Argentine boss out unlike Rafa Benitez, DavidMoyes, Carlo Ancelotti and Jurgen Klopp.
Sources close to the situation have told ClaretandHugh that “the balls remain in the air” and that while Slav remains a big favourite with the bookies – one quoting an incredible 1/50 – nothing should be taken for granted.
A third candidate with what is described as a “tiny chance” is Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Lucien Favre .
Croatia is in the EU so he doesn’t need a work permit!
Just read that the Daves have agreed terms with Bilic! Some agent Muzzi Ozcan has apparantly leaked the news on Twitter…don’t know how true it is but I hope it’s a done deal I think he will restore some East London Pride back into the team and get us playing with a bit of style and move on from northern hoof ball! Come on you irons…!!! Here’s the link http://metro.co.uk/2015/06/08/west-ham-agree-terms-with-manager-slaven-bilic-5236229/
Must be Bilic to late for anyone else to be interviewed if the 48 hours are correct
Pure speculation,Slav to be unveiled tomorrow or wednesday.Done deal!
Have these other candidates actually been interviewed? If the club are really considering other alternatives they can’t be too sure on Bilic, which I find worrying. They have also committed to a decision in 48 hours.
