Slav takes another exciting kid to Goodison

|

dobsonChairman David Gold has revealed that exciting midfielder George Dobson is with the first team squad which makes its way to Everton tomorrow.

And that in turn suggests that Victor Moses is unlikely to be ready for action against the Toffees at Goodison Park tomorrow afternoon as the Irons look to finally get a victory over their bogey team.

Dobson was included in the squad for the match against Spurs as a result of Moses’ absence but his presence with the squad demonstrates again how keen the manager is to include his better youngsters and tonight Reece Oxford is being widely tipped to retain his place in the side.

Seventeen year old Dobson joined the Irons from Arsenal back in July having captained the Arsenal Under-18s last season and also featured regularly for the north London Club in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League.

Gold tweeted: “Young George Dobson is traveling with the first team on Saturday. dg ”

The Hammers last win against Everton – apart from a penalty shoot out FA Cup victory last year at the end of a 2-2 Boleyn drw – came in 2007 when we won at Upton Park 1-0 via a Bobby Zamora effort.

Our last victory at their place came in 2005 when we won 2-1 when Weir put through his own goal and Zamora grabbed the other.

Yes more great work by Terry Westley persuading this young chap to come to us. Poaching this young fellow was a bit of a coup. I doubt he got to be captain of Arsenal under 18s unless he had something about him.
