Slav talks on top striker targets

Bilic 600x400Slaven Bilic has confirmed that both Juventus’ Simon Zaza and Wilfried Bony are targets for the Irons.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa Cup clash at a morning presser the manager said of the Zaza interest: “We were linked with him (Zaza) last year and he is a top player. We were in contact with him last year and will see what happens.

“Bony is also an option because he plays in the position we are looking for. I leave negotiations to the Chairman and Tony Henry.”

ClaretandHugh has revealed after conversations with a top source that the club would be keener to bring the Juventus hitman in on a season-log loan.

He wants around £100k personal terms whilst  Bony has always been the more realistic option given that the club is really only looking for cover until January when record signing Andre Ayew is back.”

Meanwhile, the manager is optimistic about the clash against Romanian outfit Astra Giurgiu saying: They beat us last year and it is not job done. We have had enough time to recover from Sunday and I am optimistic.”

  1. What a waste of money signing another striker. I said the Ayew deal was a bad business decision and here follows another bad business decision. I am glad it is not my money. We have enough strikers, ffs trust them. What we do need is a top RB and I am very disappointed to see Jaamaat going to Watford. He would have suited us perfectly.

  2. I’m all for the zaza deal. Sakho and Valencia are clearly not going to be here much longer and with calleri most likely not staying after this season, Carroll likely being injured (don’t get me wrong, in very pro Carroll and would hate to see him leave) and ayew not being an out and out striker no matter what anyone tries to say, I think zaza is a very good choice. Has alot to prove and clearly has the ability.

Also think it’s very important to get a right back in, but agree with the board on janmaat. 10 mil is far too much for him. Byram cost less than a third than that and tbh don’t think there’s a big difference between their abilities.

  3. For Christ sake Johnham stop moaning all the time like you are some football talent supremo it’s boring.

    • Rick, just offering an opinion, it could well be a bad opinion but I will accept that. As a player I do not rate Zaza but if we sign him and he proves me wrong then I will accept that. Anyway here is a question for you, if it was your money would you spend 25m on Zaza or would you see Jaamaat for 10m, which is the better deal for West Ham at this moment in time in your opinion ?

      • Johnham you must criticise 9 out of 10 players we sign or might sign while still insisting Valencia should play. You must be on a wind up I think. To answer your question then no I wouldn’t pay that much for Janmaat. We have Byram & whats the point of paying £10 million on Jamaat.Even Geordie fans say he is useless at defending.I thought you was all over Oxford as a rb anyway.

  4. A lot of reports saying we have agreed a £5.5 million fee for FC Sion attacking midfielder Edmilson Fernandes.

    • He’s a kid 32 , straight in to the dev squad probably ? One for the future lol.

      • 5.5 mill a lot of dosh for a young player who is not prem blooded ? That’s 6-7 m/f players if he does go in the first 11.?
We need a right back ,
Janmaat gave us problems last year at the old girl. Very good dutch international, but will he come ?? Who knows ?
