Slav to wrestle with cup-tied issue

ByramSlaven Bilic will be sweating on James Tomkins being fit for the weekend trip to Liverpool given that Sam Byram is cup-tied.

Sam is ineligible following his involvement in Leeds United’s 3rd round tie against Rotherham and could leave the manager with a problem on the right side.

Carl Jenkinson is also injured but of course his current form may be an even bigger issue as the position – which has been a headache all season until Tomkins fitted into the role – is continuing to cause real difficulties.

It maybe that fit-again Joey O’Brien could get his first call up of the season.

Slaven has admitted he will be taking the FA Cup very seriously which was demonstrated amusingly in a recent video when he brought gales of laughter from the media while holding an imaginary cup over his head and insisting he’d sooner win that than qualify for the Champions League.

Victor Moses is likely to get a start and Angelo Ogbonna may be recalled to give James Collins a rest after his fine recent League performances.

  1. JOB surely a laugh, straight out the door with Jenks. For me I would love to see Oxford in the team at RB.

  2. Just imagine > job and moses = defeat !
Everything will come down the left hand side for Liverpool !! This can’t happen if we want to progress .. big mistake !!!!!!!!

  3. Please no JOB or Jenkinson,
How about Antonio as a right back he can tackle and over lap play Obiang in front of him with instructions to cover forward runs,we are away from hom so playing 4 across the middle Song Koyate Noble and Obiang would allow Antonio to get forward and play Payet with Valencia try some thing different
    1 Valencia
    1 Payet
    4 Song Noble,Kouyate,Obiang
    4 Antonio Collins Reid Cresswell
    1 Adrien
That would give Klopp something to think about and not leave us with that weak link at the back

  4. JOB or Oxford or one of the other kids can fill the role, its hardly a crisis, we can expect a different Liverpool from the league game, I expect them to be a bit more gung ho in the cup more like the way City played against us in the league. For us, play the same way, stay compact, press them in the key areas and counter attack, hope we score more than them.
