§00Slaven Bilic decided against a late move for former Juventus defender Martin Caceres – because the 29-year-old free agent wants £100,000-a-week says Darren Lewis in the Daily Mirror. West Ham were offered the chance to take the centre-back today but the Irons are among a number of clubs that have decided against it.

Caceres has been without a club since leaving Juventus last summer when his contract expired. The stopper had spells with Defensor, Villarreal and a loan stint at Recreativo before moving to Barcelona in 2008.

He made just 13 league appearances for the Catalan giants, enjoying loan spells with Juventus and Sevilla before moving permanently to Seville. Caceres had a further stint with the Old Lady before sealing a permanent switch to Turin in 2012, but left the club last season. He has 68 caps for Uruguay.
