Slav’s not interested in players who ‘umm’ and ‘err’

BilicSlaven Bilic has made his position clear on Carlos Bacca or anyone else who doesn’t want to play for the Irons – ‘your loss pal!’

The manager has been discussing his signing policy and clearly shares the view of us fans who have little or no time for those who “umm” and “err” over a move to the London Stadium.

Slav only wants wholehearted individuals who are enthusiastic to play for what he calls “a good club.”

The manager spent some time discussing the Carlos Bacca deal today and seemed at pains to make his own posiion clear.

He said: “We tried and it was close. It became a saga a little bit – I think Bacca is impossible.”

And then in a genuine statement of intent for now and the future Slav announced: “I don’t want to have to drag players to here. We are a good club with players who are proud to play for us.”

I’m not keen on these so-called marquee signings. They are bloated on self importance and want contacts that say “I’m the big cheese round here”, so the Payets of this world have to bow down in reverence to his majesty…. Bacca? Not for me…
I prefer these diamond in the rough players who are both hungry to be at WHU and hungry to prove themselves. We can and will get into the top 4 without those ego-maniacs…. That’s how I feel about it, maybe others disagree….
Oh, and by the way, mid season Bacca is going to regret big-time that he acted the arrogant prig that he is…. and I won’t be crying for him!

    • Fish N Chips says:

I didn’t mind him taking a bit of time to assess his options. It was the “My contract must be better than Payet’s” that got my goat. Had he arrived, I would have resented him big time. So I’m over the moon we don’t have that problem….

That must be the writing on the wall for Sak,
Zara has been saying yes and no for 2 years to everyone,
Go get Bony Slav,Keep Burke to cover Byram and Mansuka
Then we will be sweet for time being,

Zaza has been saying no to teams for two years because he wants to make it at Juve and stay in Italy but Juve don’t want to sell him to an Italian club and he has no chance to make it with Juve, perhaps he just wants to play now, if we do sign him and thats a big if, then I will look forward to seeing if he can recreate the form he showed at Sassuolo and the form he displayed in the last 15 minutes or so against us in the official opener. The jury is out but if we can get a loan to buy option he is definitely for me anyway an exciting option.

Why not just by-pass all this drama and test Fletcher ?

  • RickHammer says:

Did we actually put in a bid for Daryl Janmaat or did we even want him apart from media hype.Im interested because I keep reading all these cretinous moaning monkeys foreheads saying we were outbid by Watford & it’s disgusting, but I have seen nowhere that we even put an offer in for him.Are they now making up their own fairytales as an excuse to moan lmao

  • Jackie Boy says:

I don’t think so pal.The gossip doing the rounds was that we had shown an interest from the rags & sports shows.I saw nothing about any firm bids.I wouldn’t have paid 7 million quid for Janmaat. The geezer is a **** defender, good going forward but shocking in defence.

  • Radai Lama says:

I like Janmaat myself I think he is a good player.I ain’t fussed about him not coming to us though.I reckon that we have another Arthur type signing coming in as right back.I certainly aint panicking or filling my dry-nites about it.Im really liking Arthur so far.

  • bubs says:

    Same cama as you Rad,
The new boy coming is similar to Kouyate and we don’t have a replacement when he is injured,
Remy like Bony would be a good standby if we can get one of them,
I like Both are new fF Backs and with Cressie coming back I would not let Burke leave until we have RB covered,
Not that fused about Forwards if we can get Payet Lanzini and Antonio on the pitch togeather because with Any one from Calleri,Tore of Feggolui will do for me,
Most teams have old fashioned CH that need people to man mark and with the skill and movement we would have from the above would cause all sort of problems

    • Radai Lama says:

Fernandes bubs.Yeah I have only seen him a couple of times on TV but looks to be energetic & have something about him.He is only a youngster but if we qualify for the EL he will get his chance.I think I read Arsenil were after him before. You can sign as many players as you want but when Kouyate is out we dont half miss him 🙂

  • canchaz says:

I have always had this fear that having a guy like Bacca would simply mean him expecting maximum service from our midfielders, like Payet, Lanzini etc. And grab the goals those guys will score anyway but the final outcome will be him looking great at the expense of the guys who provided a lot of key goals last year

  • bubs says:

Would just be nice to get them on the pitch,
We need everyone we can get back for City if we are going for a top 6 place,
We should not need them tomorrow and we don’t need them kicked to death before the weekend,

  • Hammerman6 says:

    Very glad to hear it

  • Michael Miller says:

I’m getting a bit fed up with this long-running saga, just get on with it and stop messing about!

I’d be happy with Bony, Remy , Zaza or any other quality striker – I’d be ecstatic if we could get rid of Valencia – he’s the one really giving me the hump!
