Slav’s so proud of his Hammers heroes

|

bilicSlaven Bilic declared himself immensely proud of his Hammers this afternoon but declared: “We are all a bit down in the dressing room.”

He said: “When you take the lead, get back in front, have chances to go 3-1 up and hit the bar it’s very disappointing to come in with a draw.”

Speaking immediately after the game he added: “I am so proud of the way the lads performed. We played a really good game and at times it was nearly perfect.

“They made us defend deep at times but we kept the ball, switched it around and were penetrative. There was individual quality and although in the end the result is important it is also about the way you play and we were very good.

“It’s great to watch Payet but I see those touches and flicks every day in training from him and he knows how to make exactly the right pass at precisely the right moment.

“It was also good to see young Sam Byram. He wasn’t supposed to be in the squad this week but he was so cool and confident for his age.

“If we continue to play in the way we did tonight then we have a chance in every game we play whoever it is against.”
