Slav’s striker choices questioned!

Strikers have become very much the Hammers talking point over recent weeks more importantly the fact that we don’t have one !!

And ClaretandHugh’s Leory Rosenior has scratched is head over some of those brought in by a manager of whom he thoroughly appjelavic (1)roves in all other areas.

But honest ‘Lee’ believes that those who have arrived over Slav’s period in charge have been particularly underwhelming.

Speaking excluively to us our chief analyst said: “I’m a big fan of the manager but some of the signings up front have confused me.

“I love the way Slaven sets up teams and thoroughly appreciate the way he wants to play but the striker situation and some of his signings haven’t been the greatest.

We have had Nikicia Jelavic, Emineke, Zaza and Calleri all of who have been pretty underwhelming and maybe it’s an area where Slav needs to get some help. He has so many contacts in the game that seeking out an expert in strikers is logical and very good management

emenike“That’s not showing weakness. It’s showing strength and it’s good management to work with people for whom you have respect in particular areas.

“It’s all well and good saying Carroll and Sakho are on the way back but in the meantime precious points are slipping away and with January around the corner I hope the homework has been spot on as it’s pretty clear where our problems lie.”

  1. I would like to know how Stoke managed to get Bony ?????

    • Stoke were prepared to pay for their target unlike some.Sorry we did pay and are stilling paying for A.C.Ultimately you get what you pay for .

  2. I seem to remember Harry Redknapp picking a few duff strikers in his time and Leroy’s game was a lot of hard running without many goals, to be fair to him in their respective leagues Zaza and Callieri looked good, it is still early days for them although they both look short of confidence. Even Bony until he got a couple of goals was looking poor this season, lets hope he returns to that form tomorrow. The best of the bunch when he has played has looked to be Fletcher I think if we played him every game he would score at least 10 goals a season which is more than the others are threatening and he has a lot of time to improve but he needs to play matches to learn the game and condition himself. It’s time Slav to bite the bullet and risk Fletcher up top with Ayew COYI !!!

  3. As things stand I do not think we will see if Zaza is going to adapt as he is approaching the games limit where the club will have to fork out Approximately 18mill. for a player who has yet to score that is a huge fee and it looks like Ayew this week and Sakho and Carroll after the international break will be picked ahead of him and he could well be used as a bargaining chip to bring in someone else in the January window.

  4. Iron worker – My Mrs says the same thing! I think a revised deal will be done on Zaza, the club want to give him every opportunity to succeed and that’s fair enough. If Juve drop the compulsory purchase order, which they’re likely to, then he could stay until the end of the season for a little more than £5m. Otherwise he is gone in January and won’t have played for a while.

Bigger concern for me is those heralding the return of china doll as the end of our woes. Where have these boys been for the last 3 years? Must be his drinking buddies.

    • Its quite disturbing when you read fans pinning their hopes on the return of china doll Jimbo.
The same as the fans who moan that others are ‘Carroll knockers’.What do they expect after seasons of no shows from him. What do they expect us to do dance the samba & let off fireworks Lol
His signing had been a disaster & i for one am sick to death of the whole situation..
