Slav’s verdict: “One win will change everything”

slavbilHonest Slaven Bilic made no bones about things after the game saying:  “Arsenal deserved to win. ”

He added: “The first half was OK, not only because of the score but we were good. We defended well with numbers. And we were also good on counter-attacks.

“In the second half they raised the tempo and scored a goal, and they were the better team. They were sharper than us tonight.

“We wanted to keep a clean sheet and the draw as long as possible, or even better to score, and make their fans and players a bit more nervous. But they started to play with more freedom after scoring.

“Of course we are [in a relegation battle]. We don’t have to hide it. It’s not being negative, it’s being realistic. I told the players to forget today – we have big games ahead of us.

“It’s a massive game against Swansea on Saturday. We are in a fight to keep our Premier League status. We have to start winning games.

“To get that confidence back is the key point. One win will change everything for us. Because three points at this stage of the season are massive.”

  1. Will someone please wake me up from this f**king nightmare… this was mean’t to be a hold it together year & then push on up next season.
We have been staring this in the face all season, we are now relying on others to be worse than us. Saturday is now like a World Cup Final, lose & the fat lady will be doing her vocal warm ups.

  2. Agreed essexirons.Even when we were winning you just felt that this scenario was coming. The whole season has been a disaster and where as we thought all we had to do was fine tune the squad after last season it is now a massive rebuilding job for someone in the Summer and a total dismantling job if we get relegated.

    • I can’t see Slav being that man though he knows whats wrong but doesn’t seem to be able to doing anything about it. I hoped he would be the man to take us forward but sadly he is taking us head first over the cliff edge.
We now have seven games to avoid armageddon, if we do then a shed load of money needs to be spent to avoid this happening next season.

  3. How much longer will it take , or how much nearer relegation must we get before the lights come on in the board room . A bad performance against Swansea should / would surely seal it .
West Ham Cannot afford Relegation .
