Smiling Sakho’s attitude is spot on

sakslavDiafra Sakho is in the best shape of his life and thoroughly enjoying life at the London Stadium.

The striker slotted his first goal of the season at Cheltenham last night and laid on the assist for Andre Ayew’s second as he started to show huge potential that he is coming back to his best.

More importantly, co chairman David Gold revealed that he is in a very good place mentally and determined to put his troubles behind him.

He said: “It’s been hard for him with this long term injury but he’s now through it and wants to play what will be the biggest season of his life.”

Sak has had “attitude problems” in the past which led to a breakdown in the relationship with Slaven Bilic but that is now history as he settles down to getting his career back on track.

Gold said: “He is happy, smiling and enjoying his life again. This is all a huge plus for everybody because at his best he is one of the best strikers around. His attitude is spot on”

  1. He wasn’t exactly smiling when he scored last night. Wonder what that was about

  2. I’m so glad to hear this. The guy is a decent striker.. he hussle’s so well…
    Puts pressure on th defence,
He is a good finisher, as the song goes.. ” He scores when he wants, he scores when he waaaaants! DIAFRA SAKHO! He scores when he wants!”

  3. I hope he does find his best form and stays as fit as he can, he is a real pain in the backside to defend against he and Chicharito could form a great partnership, they are both full of energy and offer different qualities.

  4. I think Diafra might surprise a lot of people this season

  5. I am worried about him. What exactly is he enjoying at the London stadium? Do you think they have him moving the seating?

  6. Loved Sakho since I saw him play in the Olympics before becoming a Hammer.
So happy to hear he’s fully fit and with a good attitude. Him and Hernandez !! with two strikers. Up top and Andy off the bench. Things are looking up .

  7. I like Sahko was great when first got here and shrewd buy think onky £3m. I was worried about his back bc if you have bad discs a back injury can be career ending effects your kmmes movement everything. So looks like it was to horrible moving well. And if he gets happy and good attitude be fantastic this is make or break season for his career really staying fit and pitching in some goals is important for him.
I’m wondering if we should offer a 1 year deal. Since will be able to go for free in summer and talks of £9m deal but to late to replace him without a panic buy. So he is our 2nd striker we were promised and fine with that but think be smart to try an extension and would also see where we stand of he turns it down

    • Any chance someone can translate this for me? Seems punctuation is banned where JRS is from.

      • Bletchley park 😂😂😂
Top man JRS , agree with you totally , only him and club can decide you’re points mate!
Write you’re next post in you’re native tongue 😂😂 that will confuse us 😉

    • Agree JRS. With this guy it’s been a single (serious) issue. With Carroll it’s been a series of different things. This guy is so exciting to watch. I really hope he is over the injury for good.
The only thing is that he has only one year on his contract so if he does do well we do not benefit. For that reason alone he might be sold if we bring in a replacement. Otherwise new contract or sold in January.

  8. It’s very early days yet. After back surgery, and being out so long, lets give him time.
If he does the business for the rest of the season, he will be famous again, and perhaps he would want to stay. Perhaps he will use it as a career re-launch somewhere else.
If he signs another contract at the end of the season it will mean he is a top striker again, and has grown up. I can;t wait to see that.
For now it’s one game at a time.

  9. Fantastic player , crack on sakho and prove all the beards wrong !! Our loss if he moves on !!

  10. The jury’s still out for me. Petulance is a hard trait to grow out of. At his best he runs great lines and pulls defences out of shape, though he has never been the clinical finisher that Chicharito is. I fear that this change of attitude may be temporary.

    I hope I’m wrong.

  11. Well if he is in a happy place right now there wasn’t much evidence of that on Weds night – he looked unhappy most of the game – even when he scored. I think the honest position here is he wants out but knows he ‘s stuck here until the January window.

  12. Could be the best signing of the summer ….. by far the best of our original strikers and most of the ones the owners take joy in talking about . Get rid of Carroll and bring in someone we can rely on to be fit and raring to go …personally I would settle for Martinez right now … concentrate on the centre of the team where Fonte and Noble are awful . Carvaliho looked promising but his club are known to play stupid games so don’t give up …make something else happen instead of talking about it .. We are going nowhere but bottom 5 with Noble and Fonte playing .
