Hamner Robert Snodgrass has hit out at Health Minister Mat Hancock on social media.
The 32 year Scotsman blasted the MP on twitter by saying “Thanks Matt Hancock it’s great to have your backing……. in future do your homework on what we do and who we are as people before coming for us. Over £1billion in tax and NI PAYMENTS doesn’t even earn RESPECT anymore. It’s not about us it’s about the real heroes…The NHS ❤️👌”
Last night the Hancock praised the football players initiative by saying “Warmly welcome this big-hearted decision from so many Premier League footballers to create #PlayersTogether to support NHS Charities. You are playing your part.”
A war of words has begun between some politicians, sections of the media and top-flight football players who feel they are being singled out.
BBC MOTD host Gary Lineker tweeted: “Footballers are doing their bit as I was confident they would. Proud of our players.”
While former Hammer Rio Ferdinand added: “The players have made a great call with the frontline of the NHS.”
What about all the players who are earning the real money, just keep stum, no comment, do the right thing for a few months, give up your wages and when this is all over write a book.
Far to easy to bash the footballers. You don’t hear the ministers calling out the hedge fund managers and bankers. And what about the scumbag politicians who awarded themselves a 10 grand one off payment so they can work from home. It is much more rare to find a politician who is giving back.
