Snoddy still saying all the right things at WBA

|

Robert Snodgrass has arrived at West Brom and as one would expect is already saying exactly the right things about the move from the Hammers.

You have to hand it to the man. He’s as utterly professional as it gets and any disappointment he felt – and we understand there was a lot – he had about leaving us has seemingly been swallowed as he looks to the latest challenge of his 600 plus game career.

Sam Allardyce has chosen wisely in recruiting the 33-year-old Scot who was not included in today’s squad for the FA Cup clash against Blackpool.

By one of football’s often strange ironies, he will be back at the London Stadium just a couple of weeks after leaving when the Baggies arrive for their Premier League fame on the 19th of January.

In the meantime, he has pledged – in typical fashion – to use every bit of his experience to help his new team-mates beat the drop.

Speaking on the Albion website he said: “I’m up for the fight and I’m up for the challenge. It’s going to be a tough ask because of the position we are in, but I firmly believe we can do it. The lads are probably looking for that one win to then be able to go and kick on. There’s some great talent here. I’m just a piece of the puzzle here to try and get points on the board.

“I’m delighted to able to start playing football again. I’ve really missed it. I had a few cup games at the start of the season for West Ham and haven’t really featured since then. “I had a good record in the Premier League last season and I’ve missed playing in it.

“West Bromwich Albion a great, historical club and I can’t wait to get started, get into the thick of it and help the lads any way I can. I’ve played almost 600 games in my career so I believe I can offer little points here and there to some of the lads with my experience.

“I know a good few of the lads here and I’m excited to meet the rest of them. Hopefully I can play my part to bring the lads together.

“I’ve been training every day for four months without any football at the end of each week. It’s been difficult.

“I’ve got a chance now to show that I’m fit, willing and ready.”

The consummate professional athlete. And a great footballer.
    Wish him all the best.
Hugh, can you provide the link to Gonzo’s website? I enjoy the short talks but would mind the longer rants.

Proper crafty old journeymen pro is snoddy. He always says all the right things to please the fans. That’s how he has managed to go from club to club all these years without getting on the wrong side of the fans.
