Manuel Pellegrini admitted the team hadn’t played well in the first half after the hosts had scored.
He admitted: We didn’t play well in the first half after their goal. You have to fight for every ball when you come here, they play with a great intensity and aggression.
We also kept the ball too much in our own half, this is a team that aggressively presses you.
In second half we improved a little bit more, we created chances and we got the goal. But if you review the 90 minutes, the draw was the result that both teams deserved.”
Robert Snodgrass and Town scorer Alex Prichard both felt their teams should have won the game.
But Snoddy admitted a poor start to the game had cost the Hammers the points.
Speaking after the game the 31 year old said: “We believed we could win the game but we didn’t start well enough. The manager made changes; we got the equaliser and had a few chances to win it.
“It’s a great finish from Felipe Anderson, what we want is to see him doing that regularly. It’s up to us now to help and support him.
“We’ve showed that spirit that maybe wasn’t there over the last few years. A draw is probably a fair result.”
Meanwhile Huddersfield goalscorer Alex Pritchard said: It’s probably two points dropped. It’s very disappointing, especially off the back of a win against Fulham.
“The first half was a much better performance than the whole Fulham game. But in the second half we dropped off and let them back into the game.
“It’s difficult to take but we just have to pick ourselves up. We will keep going until the very last minute.”
The manager and players were talking to to the BBC.

‘Shoulds, coulds and maybes’ from players at the end of games are all well and good but don’t actually take anything forward although I reckon Snoddy was closer to the truth than Pritchard. Our poor start saw us concede a sloppy goal which ensured we were chasing a game for a full 74 minutes. What was particularly disappointing from a Hammers point of view was that they again failed to deliver the manager’s clearly defined words that we can take nothing for granted when travelling to places like Huddersfield.Just as was the case against Brighton we sat off before losing a goal and leaving it until the second half before starting to play some decent attacking stuff. A word for the boss though. By and large his substitutions paid off in that second half as we grabbed the equaliser and had an Antonio header not been cleared off the line that one point could have been three. However, it has to be said that we really do need to be turning over the Huddersfields of the world if we have a grand vision of moving on. Te boss got it right when declaring a draw was a fair result on balance.
We are incapable of playing well consistently…can’t remember that last time we had back to back wins …I mean for a team supposedly moving forward we can’t beat Huddersfield..enough said I think…poor once again
