Snodgrass gives Brady her answer

snoddy5West Ham loanee Robert Snodgrass gave Karren Brady the perfect answer to her criticism of his abilities at West Ham by firing the winner for Aston Villa at Middlesbrough today.

The Scottish winger, bought last winter for £8 million, has been regularly knocked by the board at the London Stadium but is proving a big success at Villa Park.

His goal today goal saw the midland outfit hit seventh place just outside the play off zone.

Snodgrass scored in the 75th minute to ensure that Brady’s comments were perhaps the worst timed of the day after she had named him in her Sun column.

Commenting on the Hammers’ transfer policy over the past few seasons she had said: ”  “We’ve paid for ill-fitting players. Robert Snodgrass wasn’t exactly a triumph, while Hammers fans could name several foreign players who added little.”

Some might say she had pointed the finger at the Hammers rather than the player but as he remains on our staff it’s a dubious comment at best and can do little to help his transfer fee should David Moyes believe his fellow Scot  needs to be moved on permanently.

Snodgrass was also named by David Sullivan publicly recently when he revealed his kids had begged him not to sign him.

The Scottish winger gave a perfect response when saying : “Thank you Mr Chairman!”

He will probably have been even more pleased with his response to Brady.

  1. It’s scummy and classless to single out any player in this way.

These are the same people who in the past when things haven’t been going well have talked about ‘the West Ham family’, and how in hard times families pull together. Doubtless they’ll do the same if results don’t pick up. Clearly this doesn’t work both ways, although that shouldn’t surprise us with such vile hypocrites.

It is of course a continuing agenda of deflecting anything bad that has happened to the club away from themselves. It’s comically transparent.

On the business side of things what a good idea to completely alienate a player who is doing well at his new club. I’m sure they’ll be paying top dollar to keep him given he’ll be so willing to come back.

On top of the Sullivan kid self publicising his business acumen and his tacky brothel of a home, it hasn’t been a good week PR wise.

  2. I can’t see any sense in knocking Snoddy – he’s still on the payroll and we all saw for ourselves that he didn’t fit in or hit the heights we hoped. But that was under Bilic; like Oxford he wasn’t fancied by Slav, but Moyes may think better and want to give him a chance in his best position.

Little chance of that if the Board keep slagging him off.

  3. Well done Robert, your response to Sullivan was class and quality which is never something you could say about Brady…..what a massive embarrassment both she and the Sullivan’s are to our great club.

  4. Well done Mrs Brady, what would Mr Sugar say pulling apart a 10 million pound purchase and asset? Brilliant, we can now really command big money for him to move on! You’d have your coat and scarf on leaving in a black cab.

  5. Robert Snodgrass wasn’t exactly a triumph. Its a fact. Fans have said far worse. Not a problem for me.
