West Ham United‘s pursuit of Carlos Soler from Paris Saint-Germain looks to be the final piece of the jigsaw as the club look to strengthen the club’s midfield options. The Hammers have been actively pursuing the Spanish midfielder, and recent reports from Fabrizio Romano suggest that a deal may be finalised before the transfer window closes.
There is no doubt that Carlos Soler is a talented midfielder with a proven track record and something of a legend in La Liga for Valencia. His versatility, passing ability, and goal-scoring threat would be valuable additions to West Ham’s squad.
However, where he would slot into the team is unknown, particularly there are already significant players who are missing out on game-time. Tomas Soucek appears to have quickly established himself as a J-Lo favourite and the return of Edson Alvarez has made midfield a hotly contested area.
The Hammers have already made significant investments in their midfield this summer, with the signings of Guido RodrĂguez and the prospects of James Ward Prowse and Andy Irving are looking bleaker by the day.
Tonight (Sunday) it has been announced that Ward-Prowse will probably be sold before Friday deadline.
No other player mentioned.
JLo is fully focused on Carlos Soler so it’s unlikely funds will accommodate a striker.
All quiet on Aguerd front so if he stays, with his assets, can cover left back and c/bk.
Perhaps this is reason been no mention of signing a l/bk back up.
We’ve still got the funds for a striker as well . Squad space is the issue. Plus trevObligation to buy deals are all the rage ATM . I f JWP does leave a home grown player will come in .
We seem to have too many midfielders already. Maybe Lopetegui is going to do something similar to Moyse, that is put midfielders into other positions instead. How about left back or centre forward? It’s just a matter of finding which square pegs can be forced into round holes!
