|

alex-song-west-hamAlex Song will take his first steps towards landing a place in the squad for the match against Spurs in around half an hour.

The on-loan midfielder will get his first action in a team setting in over six months when he steps out at the Boleyn in a behind closed doors friendly against Charlton at the Boleyn (k/o 12 noon, Wednesday).

Song has been back in full training with the frst team for over a week and now manager Slaven Bilic will assess the former Arsenal man in a match setting.

Song is on a year’s loan and keen to agree a permanent deal with the Irons who will be tempted to offer him a two year deal should he impact on his first team return over the campaign.

A source told us: “We are very keen to see him in action again. He’s an absolutely top player and we wouldn’t have done a loan deal while he was still recovering had we not believed he had a lot to offer.”
