Song arrives in Barcelona on crutches

CrutchesPhotos posted online by Alex Song on Instragram and Snapchat show the midfielder arriving back in Barcelona by private plane on crutches.

Reports suggest Alex Song’s may face surgery and up to three months on the sidelines. The player’s proposed move from Barcelona to the Boleyn ground could be in jeopardy depending on the severity of the injury.

Having experienced a torrid time with striker, Andy Carroll,  the club is unlikely to gamble again in signing another crocked star – unless the injury proves to be minor.  Song, 27, is understood to have already agreed personal terms with West Ham, but has been waiting for Barca and Hammers officials to iron out the finer details of his deal. Song has another year on his contract with Barcelona.

Reports claim Song has discovered he has a piece of floating bone, which may require surgery and rule him out of the start of the Premier League season.

  1. Getting sick of this now, we need to put our foot down, tell them what we want to pay, if they so no, tell them to stuff it and look elsewhere rather than just going back and forth with no one budging an inch.

  2. How long does it take to organise an operation? It sounds like a relatively routine sporting injury, and he has known about it for ages.

  3. Surely if he is on crutches he would have had the operation as he wasn’t using them before. If not then we might have a better bet in signing Stephen Hawking.

  4. One more time we will take him off your hands for nada or look elsewhere

  5. He is going to be a free transfer im sure.It is a simple operation for floating bone.Just depends if we want to wait.

  6. Hawkings for WHU ?? — Cosmic Signing !!

  7. If he’s going to be out for 3 months then wait until January. Sign him on a pre-contract if necessary but no point in paying this guy 12-13 weeks wages at whatever extortionate rate. Might as well use that money better on someone else.
