Song fights for life after suffering stroke

song1Former West Ham defender Rigobert Song is in a critical condition after suffering a stroke. The 40-year-old was rushed to hospital in Yaounde in his homeland of Cameroon on Sunday.

Song was understood to be at home in the Odza neighbourhood in Yaounde when he suffered a cerebral aneurysm.

The cousin of Alex Song Song played for West Ham between 2000-2002 making 24 appearances.

Liverpool tweeted out “#Thoughts with and hope he recovers quickly.”

West Ham tweeted out “The thoughts of everyone at West Ham United are with Rigobert Song and those close to him at this time

Our thoughts at ClaretandHugh are with him and his family at this difficult time.
