Song wants to make Irons top five club

SongsAlex Song will be a very happy man if he can help the Hammers become a top four or five club.

He is entirely honest in his appraisal of his move to the east end but wants to become a key figure in the club’s top of the table masterplan.

He said: “You cannot compare Barcelona and West Ham and I would not ask for the things I do at Barcelona now I am at West Ham.

“They want to be one of the top four or five clubs here. I’ll be happy if I can help them do that.”

He explained his cousin  Rigobert – a former Hammer – had told him: “West Ham fans are very loyal and it is a very good club.”

The Hammers on-loan defender explained however, that he believes the Premier League has improved massively during his two year absence.

He said: “When I was here before you had to fight very hard against teams like Stoke.

“You still have to fight but the football is good from all teams. The last time I watched Stoke they played good football.”
