Sorry Dimi this isn’t on

|

payetIt really is very hard not to take a very dim view of Dimi Payet’s behaviour in allowing himself not “to close the door on   anything ” and of being “ambitious.”

The timing is thoroughly awful and, whether it is or not, looks to have been made to bring the bids in during the January window.

At a time when West Ham need everybody to be pulling in one direction the midfielder has demonstrated that his mind me be at least halfway somewhere else.

This is the third time in fact he has chosen to leave doubts over his future hanging in the air about his future and once this stuff starts it never goes away – a move in the summer looks inevitable.

We have repeated on several occasions the club will need the offer of offers to allow him to depart next month and his moans and groans about the recent struggle having worn him out were pretty unbelievable.

Dimi is essential to this team during it’s current situation – he is on the biggest contract the club has ever handed any player.

I think it’s fair to ask him to keep it shut and get on with it – the move now looks in inevitable but if the club lets it happen before the end of January – which I don’t believe they will – that would present a massive issue and send out all the wrong messages about player power.

The player himself and his agent need to be kept in their place – he who pays the piper plays the tune.

I don’t blame Payet for wanting to leave. He bought into the clubs ambition and was probably given a great sales pitch about it. He was at the centre of a great season last time around was no doubt expecting, like most fans, that we would show ambition in the transfer window and kick on this year. Instead we sign a load of rubbish in the transfer window, have an embarrassing European qualifying campaign and then get involved in a relegation fight. The truth is the board have to take some responsibility for a shocker of a transfer window and failing to match their actions to their sales pitch.
I am actually a fan of the Dave’s but they didn’t deliver this summer. Not only does it let us down as fans but it lets ambitious players down.
It doesn’t make you a mercenary to want success in your career

What’s the big deal? The hard truth is this. Payet is far too good for West Ham. He is good enough to play for Real Madrid and Barcelona and he’s in the twilight of his career. Who can blame him if he chose to leave? If he does I will be sad but I will just thank him for a magical 18 months. Some of you need to get real.

I don’t think he’ll go because we won’t accept the bids that we would receive for him. He is approaching 30 and we’ll want £30m+

I also don’t think he would be a regular in a top team

Absolutely out of order great player demi when his mind is on it and this season it hasn’t been so either play with passion and get your wayward passing and free kicks going or get dropped. Realise nobles form is poor but it’s not due to lack of trying so demi if you want to leave after one season then jog on son. We can get others with a passion and flair that will be better than non trying suoerstar for the cash we will get so well hammers.imo

Maybe Dimi is a bit too honest for his own good in interviews, not that at any point he has said he wants to leave!!
Perhaps he should take a leaf out of other want away players books.Totally bu*ll**** & lie to the fans, tell them he is 100% comitted to the club, loves the fans & will be seeing out the rest of his contract for sure.
Then when he does one in Jan or the summer you will all feel even more mugged off by his lying lol 😁😁

He hasn’t said he wants to leave. He hasn’t said much at all. Why perpetuate this non-story? And what’s all this nonsense about not singing his song? And then the cheap digs at Noble and the salary comparisons? I’m sick to the back teeth of the negativity on this forum. It’s poisonous.

    • It’s not a non story. It’s a running story promoted by Dimi and his agent and timed for maximum impact. He could choose to say nothing but on 3 separate occasions he has decided to claim Arsenal would be a fun club, he is ambitious and won’t close the door on his future. That’s poisonous from a bloke on 125k a week not the responses here.

If Payet does not want to play for West Ham he should be allowed to leave, because this is a situation which is bad for the team. All these hints in interviews are out of order, and the comments are unsettling for the team. He’s not helping the club or his team mates with all this rubbish every few weeks.
If he wants to leave, sell him, preferably in the summer, and preferably not to go to Arsenal, or any other premier league club.

Ironic that we have the best and the worse midfield players in the division in the same team . Imagine how Dimi feels when he watches Noble wallowing in midfield giving the ball away or slowing everything down to his pace ( lack of! ).

Can you imagine and to add insult to injury, the club promised him things they could not deliver. His ambitions are bigger than West Ham, I’m afraid.

  • Doughball says:

Players especially the top ones hold the whip hand when it comes to where they want to play. Ok, their agents have a say in the matter but if Payet wants out of our club we would be unable to keep him. Unfortunately that’s the way of things in football, same as moving to a bigger stadium. You either put up with it or go and follow some other pastime.
Payet needn’t be replaced. I would use Ayew or Samuelson in his position. Let’s face it Payet hasn’t been playing as well this season. It’s been noticeable how he does things to look good rather than play the ball to someone in a better position or get an early cross into the box.
No one is bigger than the club so sell him next month if the right offer comes in. Playing him in the reserves? You must be joking!!

  • PopRobson says:

It seems fairly obvious that he doesn’t want to stay,Whether he will be allowed to leave or not I would suggest depends on any replacement. To release him now with the rubbish season we have had so far without an adequate replacement would be just about the final nail. That’s football I suppose, last season he could do no wrong, this season the only fans NOT singing the Dimi tune are our own…everyone else has nicked it just as we have stopped singing it. It does make me laugh though, players want away because they are in a struggling team…..er, it’s not the fans that are struggling chaps it’s you lot!

I’m afraid Dimi has to realise that he is under contract for another 4 years to West Ham and if he had intentions of leaving for a “fun” club or playing CL he should not have signed a new contract. These thoughts were not in his mind when he originally signed for West Ham.The fact remains that WHU are under no obligation to sell him and if his performances deteriorate further than what they are already, leave him in the reserves.Pay a guy £125,000 a week to play in reserves,I hear you say.Remember we have been paying Carroll £100,000 a week to sit on the treatment table. My advice Dimi-be thankful to West Ham and get your finger out.1 season doesn’t make you a star.
