Soucek makes Arsenal admission

Tomas Soucek has revealed that he supports Arsenal!

The Hammers star has become a key player for David Moyes in east London since his arrival back in 2020.

He has made a total of 69 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals, and is surely seen as one of the most indispensable members of the squad.

However, he has now revealed that he actually has a real soft spot for the Hammers’ London rivals for one reason: Tomas Rosicky.

Rosicky played for Arsenal for a decade between 2006 and 2016 and won two FA Cups with the north London club, earmarking him as one of the best players to watch in the Premier League given his passing ability and his exceptional dribbling.

And Soucek admits that watching him was a key part of convincing him to support the Gunners.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Saturday Social, as transcribed by HITC, Soucek said: “Yes, I support, and it’s what I said about my hero, Tomas Rosicky.

“I support him at Arsenal and I support them like a team because when I was in my childhood they were one of the best, so I support them.

“He was the best at Arsenal, even on the international stage and his ability was incredible because of how he can turn and switch the play. Pass and create chances, for me, it was entertaining.”

The midfielder will be in action on Sunday against Liverpool.

  1. …and now that Soucek and Coufal are now playing for West Ham, they’ve probably created many more West Ham supporting Czech fans than Tomas Rosicky did for the Arse as he wasn’t that brilliantly successful for them, but simply the most high profile Czech player at that time.

  2. We had our own brilliant Czech player and Hammers Legend in Tomas Repka. Rosicky was a fine player no doubt, but Repka was a beast whose epitomised the very best of West Ham traditions.
