Probably the last thing West Ham need right now is another senior player being linked with a move away from the club: The Hammers dealt dreadfully with Tomas Soucek’s compatriot Vladimir Coufal’s departure from the club last summer, but surely even West Ham couldn’t cock it up again. Relegation battle and all.

With 250 games under his belt Soucek is a Hammers hero and one who has never been afraid to get his shorts dirty of his shirt bloody for the cause. In a relegation battle his warrior qualities could yet prove as decisive as his goals.

Accordingly, when the news broke this afternoon via sportwitness.co.uk that Galatasaray had spoke to Soucek’s agents about a move away from West Ham this winter, we spoke to our own transfer source, close to the player and with his finger on the pulse – to try and get clarification of ‘Tornado Tom’s‘ intent at this crucial time in West Ham history.

Our source was adamant in giving the story concerning Soucek to Galatasaray the thumbs down: ” I haven’t stopped laughing at that one” replied our source .

There’s two hopes of Soucek going to Galatasaray: Bob Hope and No hope”.

Cross that one off the ‘worry radar’ then in the coming weeks. Now in the meantime, perhaps we’ll go and ask the same source :WTF (where.. the.. flip..) are our new centre backs?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

He even has an enhanced role now with the level of inexperience in midfield. Calms things down and organises. I’m sure most of us spotted him grabbing Summerville at a corner, telling to go to the edge of the box, not in the box, taking him & pointing to the spot where he should stand. Of course ball was headed out by opposition and landed at S’s feet. Soucek could retire at WHU one day and have a choice of roles at the club I reckon, given his personality.

Will be interesting to see midfield setup against Sunderland on Saturday, as they have Granit Xhaka probably one of the players of the season, running their midfield.

Those Turkish clubs never want to pay a fee, even though they are in Europe every year and must be minted. They would want a loan with no obligation. Seen it all before. Soucek is too valuable to lose at this stage.

Oh yes they could! This is West Ham after all. And Sullivan is still pulling the strings. What could possibly go wrong? Everything! Welcome to Sully’s Circus. 🤡

Tomas The Tank Engine must stay! 🚂

PS. Bob Hope – now he was a player! 🤩
