West Ham manager David Moyes has confirmed that Tomas Soucek is undergoing a medical.
Earlier today Claret and Hugh were told that the player had arrived in UK to take his medical and the signing was 95% complete.
Moyes told reporters at Rush Green this afternoon “I hope he is in the middle of his medical. He fits the profile of the player I want for West Ham. We are in a difficult period where we need experienced players as well, he has 25 caps for the Czech Republic.”
The deal is thought to have cost the Hammers 18 million Euros (£15.2m) with another 2 million Euros (£1.7m) of add-ons.
If he passes his medical and signs on the dotted line he will become West Ham’s second signing of the January transfer window after the signing of Darren Randolph for a transfer fee believed to £4m.
His signing in the next 24 hours should give enough time to register him as a West Ham player before the weekend when the Hammers face Brighton.
This is a really good signing. Young, captain, goalscorer, tackler, great in the air, current international and champs league experience with a point to prove. How can West Ham get a signing so right?
The only worry is he cant be eased in, he will have to play now!
With him joining Moyes maybe planning a 4-3-3?
