Soucek’s boys are Euros dark horses

Tomas Soucek could be on his way to the latter stages of the Euros!

The Czech Republic midfielder captained the side against Belgium yesterday as his side took a point from their more esteemed opponents.

Belgium are the top ranked team in the world and have the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, and Toby Alderweireld in their ranks.

The Czechs are subsequently top of a tricky looking group also involving Belarus, Wales, and Estonia.

This summer, they will go into the Euros with another tough group.

Soucek and Vlad Coufal will undoubtedly be in the squad and they are set to go up against Croatia, Spain, and Turkey in Group D.

In recent fixtures, it should not be forgotten that they beat England 2-1 at home, outright outclassing Gareth Southgate’s men.

Their next games, against Wales and Italy may give more of an indication of how good they can be but with Soucek in midfield, and the warrior Coufal at right-back, one has to think anything is possible for this side.

Don’t rule them out!

  1. Group info for the Euros is wrong.

Czechs are in England’s group with Scotland and Croatia.
