Southampton game could still move

|

The West Ham v Southampton game could yet move to a 12.30 pm despite the Saints turning down a request.

The Hammers have asked the Premier League to move the game to a 12.30 pm lunchtime from a 3 pm kick off.

If the match was moved forward to lunch time it would allow West Ham fans to make both the Southampton men’s game at the London Stadium and the Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley if they so wished.

A senior club source speaking to Claret and Hugh via Email said: “We still hope the Premier League will move the Southampton game to a 12.30pm kickoff, so supporters can do both games if they want. We’ll know early next week.”

Asked whether the game could be shown LIVE at the London Stadium after the Southampton game if the game wasn’t rescheduled the source replied “There are you huge complications of showing the game live at the London Stadium, I’m sure local Stratford pubs will as it is on TV. I desperately want fans to go to both games”

I personally don’t think it should be moved at all. How many fans would really attend?

I actually think quite a lot would go. The novelty of a cup final at Wembley, the publicity that the womens game is getting.

Someone mentioned that if it can’t be moved, they should stick it on the big screen at the London Stadium after the Southampton match finishes and have a end of season party. That sounds a nice idea.
