According to GiveMeSport, Southampton are pulling out all the stops on deadline day, launching a double raid on West Ham United to secure the signings of Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings.
The newly-promoted club is determined to bolster their squad for the upcoming Premier League season. Having already secured two 1-0 defeats against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, Southampton is eager to add attacking firepower.
They also claim that Southampton is reportedly close to finalising a loan deal for Maxwel Cornet from the Irons. The Ivorian winger could provide a valuable addition to the Saints’ squad. As Martin reported earlier, The Saints now face competition from Crystal Palace for Cornet’s loan signature. (Remember, Cornet is a ‘Unique Sports Management Agency’ client aka Will Salthouse- who is quite close to Crystal Palace)mt
James Ward-Prowse was also a target for Southampton since leaving the club to join West Ham United last year but it has been confirmed this morning that he is off on a season-long loan to Nottingham Forest.
Danny Ings’ future at West Ham United seems to be finished. The striker has struggled for playing time and seems reluctant to a move away from the club, although. Southampton has previously expressed interest in signing Ings.
The Irons desperately want to offload Ings and will contribute to his wages.
The transfer window is closing fast, and Southampton has limited time to complete these deals. Even if they are partly successful it will be a good outcome for both sides.

We are selling players that aren’t good enough , jwp done a job but look at the last game he done nothing , even his corners and free kick was dreadful, and as for cornet, how you are even considering him as good is beyond belief, he has done nothing for us !
He’s hoping we offload the players that are not needed and at least bring in Soler & maybe Dhuran but who knows
