England’s quest for a major trophy continues after another heartbreaking Euros final defeat. With Gareth Southgate’s stepping down, the Football Association (FA) is preparing for a potential new manager.

Several names are already circling as potential replacements:

Eddie Howe: Newcastle’s manager has impressed with his work and could be a tempting choice for the FA. However, his high salary demands might be a hurdle.
Graham Potter: Out of work after leaving Chelsea, Potter’s tactical prowess makes him a strong contender.
Thomas Tuchel: Another ex-Chelsea boss, Tuchel’s experience and tactical expertise are attractive qualities.
Mauricio Pochettino: The former Tottenham manager is an option, but the reception from Argentina, his home nation, is a potential issue.
Lee Carsley: Leading the England U21s to European glory strengthens Carsley’s case for a shot at the senior team.
Frank Lampard & Steven Gerrard: England legends, but their managerial careers to be charitable haven’t quite taken off yet.

There’s discussion about appointing an English manager or looking abroad. While some favour a homegrown solution (e.g., Potter), others see the value in a foreign manager like Tuchel.

While highly unlikely, some fans dream of Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp taking charge.

The search for a new manager comes as England’s trophy drought stretches to 58 years. Will the next appointment finally bring home the silverware?

There’s a reason why England hasn’t won anything for 58 years , the appointed managers aren’t good enough . Arguably , for the last few years , England has had the best squad in the world . A quality manager will turn an average group of players into a world class team . So pay the money and get the best manager . LOL not Lampard who’s like a fart in a sauna .

Don’t worry, David Moyes is available………

    None of the above.

I thought of Klopp as the obvious choice but then my younger son (40) pointed out that having previously turned down the Germany job it would create uproar there. On the other hand it wouldn’t require the same day to day commitment as being a club manager.

    Give it to Harry.
