Sow snubs Hammers for seven-figure Al Ahli payday

moussa-sowMoussa Sow has revealed he turned down an approach from West Ham to complete a mega money move to Al Ahli.

Sow joined the United Arab Emirates club for €16 million (£11.7m) from Fenerbache – snubbing the overtures of  the Hammers and Sunderland. He is understood to have received a seven-figure loyalty bonus from the UAE club as part of the transfer deal.

The French-born striker spoke at a Al Ahli club press conference yesterday, revealing: “I heard this is one of the biggest transfers here in the Emirates and I’m happy to have that much value in me, I’m trying to give back what the club paid for me and attempting to do my best.

“I received a few offers from England and other teams in the UAE, but I have been here many times and, after I spoke with my family and friends, I decided to come to Al Ahli club.”

  1. Good for him, easy football no beer,100 degrees heat, all the ladies covered head to toe,
Plenty of time to count his money and build a friendship with Magia,
It’s the new Arab slave trade,

  2. Dont want a geezer who clearly takes money over his career, just another Adebayour.

  3. Just another mercenary placing money over career. Lanzini realised his mistake and came to West Ham to further his career. You won’t get a big money move in the future if no one has ever heard of you coz your playing in Arab land.

  4. Can’t hack it in the Premier League. One word…. Pig! Haha

  5. Just hope we try and buy Lanzini in January and not let someone else step in,
I don’t blame these players taking the money they have such short careers,
But he still had so much to offer maybe we could do a deal to let there player come to us and some of our lads go to them.
Might be the new owners we one day will need to grow ( Mr Golds words not mine )

  6. To be fair to the guy, what is he,30/31yrs old.Must be one lovely finally pay day.Got to be tempting 😉
