Spanish move looks on for Irons striker

|

jonathan-calleri-800x504Sevilla are this morning being reported as ready to end  Jonathan Calleri’s West Ham nightmare.

The Argentinian striker, 23, remains keen to  make a success of his loan from Deportivo Maldonado in Uruguay, despite having had no chance to impress since his arrival.

He hasn’t  made a Hammers first team start despite the club having suffered a crisis up front virtually all season.

His misery deepened when he was injured playing for the under 23s as talk arose that his contract would be closed down in January.

Some have questioned why the player has been given no chances at all given the thoroughly awful form of Simone Zaza and injuries to Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll.

Calleri remains keen to make a late success of his move to the Premier League but it looks very possible that he could make the move to Spain if the interest firms up from Sevilla.

I don’t believe Calleri has been a fair chance to impress . We are talking about a young guy on his first experience outside of S. America . I think his treatment has been pretty callous , a scapegoat for the failings of far more experienced players .
He should be given the time to recover from injury and at least see out the season .if as the article states he is determined to succeed in the Pl , then we are talking about a robust character.
