There are other reasons to believe that Sunday could be a watershed match in our favour with Jose Mourinho appearing to run into the sort of problems that are becoming a regular feature of his managerial career.

It;s not often – for example – that a player needs to declare that the manager has not lost the dressing room which was the case when Son denied did so recently

With four defeats in their last five Premier League matches as well as exiting the FA Cup, the  not so special one is in trouble.

There have been reports of fallouts with players such as Gareth Bale and Serge Aurier and some of us have been around too long to not understand there is no smoke without fire.

On top of all this, according to The Daily Mail, Spurs are now said to be ‘willing to sell’ talisman Kane.

The report, which is the back page splash  claims Spurs chief Daniel Levy will consider flogging  the 27-year-old striker if a club coughs up £150m.

As a result the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and PSG are being linked.

Obviously, it’s not a great idea to get carried along on these stories to the point where we think victory is inevitable but it is quite enjoyable to see media negativity spreading into the Spuds rather than the Irons.

Meanwhile Spurs head for Europe tonight with Mourinho apparently ready to stick by Hugo Lloris who helped man city to victory with two cock-ups in their last game. The alternative is Joe Hart!

All of that helps given the 12 noon kick off on Sunday!
