HT: Spurs 1 Hammers 0

Kompany names Hammers big three

West Ham were dominated from the start by a slick moving Spuds side who enjoyed 90 per cent of possession in the opening 10 minutes. After such one way traffic it was a terrible shock that the opening goal came from dreadful lazy defending when ever Hammers player was in the box but couldn’t prvent Romero rising for a corner and heading across Fabianski into the far corner,

The Hamers responded with their first attack of the match but Kudus was offside when firing wide from a Coufal cross.  It was Kudus – playing centrally – who was again on the case when drawing a save a few minutes later.

These were brief moments in constant Spuds attacking and Fabianski – in for Areola who has an injured wrist – who save well from Lo Celso.

But the Hammers created a fabulous chance when Kudus AGAIN – this time having moved to the right – crossed beautifully for Paqueta who headed wide from close in when he should have at least put the ball on target
