West Ham are set to raid Tottenham Hotspur for one of their top academy stars, according to Hammers ITK ExWHUEmployee. It’s also understood that Spurs are far from happy about the prospect of losing one of their brightest young players.

The youngster in question is England youth international Frankie Day, a highly rated forward emerging from Spurs’ academy. The move is viewed as a big feather in the cap for West Ham, with Mark Noble playing a key role in securing the deal for the 16-year-old.

ā€œWest Ham are set to sign England youth international Frankie Day from rivals Spurs,ā€ said Ex, on his West Ham Way patreon. ā€œThe deal is currently going through the Premier League five-step process before it can be completed.

ā€œFrankie is a prolific forward who has scored many goals at his age group and while playing above his years. This is considered a bit of a coup for the club, with Mark Noble being very much behind the deal.ā€

This isn’t the first time Noble has been instrumental in bringing young talent to the academy. Last season, the former West Ham captain risked the wrath of Celtic and Brendan Rodgers when he persuaded another prolific striker, Daniel Cummings, to reject a new deal with The Bhoys and join the Hammers instead.

Noble’s Influence and Nuno’s Youth Pathway

Recruiting top young prospects may be becoming increasingly easier for West Ham, particularly under manager Nuno EspĆrito Santo. Since arriving at the club, Nuno has shown a clear willingness to give academy players meaningful opportunities, a factor that undoubtedly makes the London Stadium an attractive destination for rising talent.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!

We have enough of our own academy talent warming the bench at the moment without adding more from other academies! Just when is Nuno going to convert his words in support of academy talent into action on the pitch?

He’s only 16, will be another 4/5 years before he’s anywhere near the first team!! And Nuno has played several academy players and had more on the bench, they’re coming through, don’t worry in Nuno we trust……unlike Potter!

Totally agree with all comments from the lads.
Yeah Cummings, what happened to him? Marshall & Cummings are type of forwards needed, they press and non stop running etc

    • Steve1 says:

Running around and pressing are all very commendable but the ā€œtype of forwardsā€ that you really need are ones that actually score goals!

Boys from Romford. Wouldn’t be surprised if his family were West Ham fans.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Couldn’t agree more let’s go after the best youth talent while they can see at West Ham they can break through into the first team if they prove themselves!!!

  • Martyn Winslade says:

We shall see, i suspect its all guff as per….
    Never be seen again,
Unless you go to Dagenham and Redbridge !!

Daniel Cummings. There is a name I recall having a great future with West Ham. I have not heard much about him since he signed and hurt his shoulder though.

Just as well that we have no pressing need for a goalscoring centre forward at the moment.

Frankie Day can be another off the conveyor belt of young talent which Nuno has been utilising throughout his West Ham management career.

    We can but hope! COYI

  • Matthew Reid says:

The future of the club is in the trusted hands of Mark Noble, something I’m sure we can all get behind!
