Spurs hit by injury blow

Spurs will be without Giovani Lo Celso,  Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon for Sunday’s local derby with West Ham.

Jose Mourinho confirmed the injury blow ahead of his side’s trip to the London Stadium and will also be without Sergio Reguilon, who is working his way back to fitness. When asked about Lo Celso’s recovery from a hamstring injury, Mourinho said:

“I don’t know. Not close. I think Reguilon next week against Wolfsberger home match.

“Not Gio. No, no, no. Gio is still a few weeks away, and of course, we need him because he gives us lots of qualities and options, and we’ve missed him for a long time.”

Serge Aurier also remains sidelined with a calf injury which will keep him out until at least the end of February.

Jose Mourinho is confident Harry Kane will be back to face the Hammers.

Asked if Harry would be back to face West Ham, Jose responded: “I believe so, he’s an experienced guy that had injuries in the past, he knows his body better than anyone. His feelings were that to play this game (Wolfsberger) could be a risk with the accumulation of minutes after the injury that he had. Of course, myself and the medical department, we agreed with him in giving him this opportunity to take care of his condition, but I believe on Sunday he will be okay and ready.”
