Spurs keep careful eye on Hammer’s contract talks

Exclusive by Hughie Southon

ClaretandHugh has learned that Spurs are keenly watching developments on the planned end of season talks between West Ham and Tomas Soucek,

The first round of discussions between David Moyes and the midfielder broke down with the player unhappy with what we were told was a relatively meagre offer on his current terms.

However, new discussions are planned at the end of the season when the Czech Hammer of last year will be hoping for a better offer after playing virtually every game this season.

However, we understand Spurs boss Antonio Conte is a big admirer of the 27 year old and will be ready to move in should talks between the pair again break down,

A source close to both clubs explained that Conte has the money to move on a player the Hammers value at around £40 million and would be hopeful that they could land him if no settlement can be reached with Moyes.

It’s more likely, with the Hammers in desperate need of strengthening midfield, a deal will be done and at least two more added.
