Spurs looking to hijack Batshuayi deal

payet2 (2)

Reports from France suggest Spurs are in advanced talks to sign West Ham’s summer target striker Michy Batshuayi. The 22-year-old has scored 21 goals in 46 appearances for Marseille and was subject to intense speculation in the January transfer window linking him with West Ham, Stoke, Newcastle as well as Tottenham.

Despite Marseille’s insistence they want to keep him, Batshuayi appears likely to move to the Premier League in the summer for a transfer fee of around £25m. West Ham hope that Matshuayi’s close relationship with Dimtri Payet, which can be seen in the picture above, will help their chances of sealing a summer deal and would reunite a deadly partnership.

Our regular senior source told ClaretandHugh last night “What we have to find is a 15-25 goal a season striker and that’s no easy task. Every club is looking for that rare ability.”

  1. I thought that it was illegal to talk to players outside of the transfer window ? Which was part of the transfer windows reason, so players wouldn’t be unsettled outside of those windows as was the case before the windows creation ? If Spuds are trying to get one of our targets it won’t be the first or last time and largely irrelevant until the summer anyway, if Batshuayi wants to play alongside Payet again, get Payet to speak to him and broker a summer deal.

  2. It is not illegal if Marseille give permission

    • Cool I didn’t know that, would seem odd for them to give permission and unsettle one of their assets, especially with their debt, they need to finish as high in the table as possible and the fact they know the guy has a list of suitors from across Europe…

  3. If Marseille don’t want to sell , why would they give permission ? Its just spud news writers soiling themselves with fear after payets upgrade and our intentions to be contenders !!
Spuds remind me of a pack of higheenas , sneaks without any class at all !!! Ask payet to have a word in his ear if Bilic wants the lad ,

  4. Unfortunately Spurs are likely to be able to offer him Champions League football….

  5. Spurs would only buy him on instalments as they have no funds to pay upfront cos of new stadium. That’s why berahino bid was turned down. So depends on marseille if they are ok with that.

  6. We don’t need loads of players so just go and pay what ever the price just so we can give Levy the middle finger,
European football is not everything and if you are going to go out straight away as the Spuds will you might as well not be in it,
He knows his mate is happy seen his mate get a pay rise in 6 months, will get star billing and not tie Kane’s laces with the spuds,
Just the price to get sorted if he is that good £35 million is cheap compared with the other big boys,
    Let’s be big and bold,
