Spurs set to tie up deal for player Moyes said no to

Spurs are set to tie up a £25m deal to sign Yves Bissouma later this week, if reports are to be believed, after David Moyes turned him down.

The Times reports that Tottenham have agreed a fee with Brighton to bring the midfielder into the club.

Bissouma was offered to West Ham by agents last week, as we reported, but Moyes opted against making a bid for the player.

The Times also claims that personal terms will not be an issue and Bissouma is now poised to undergo a medical and sign for the north London club.

The fee is so low because he has just one year left on his contract.

There is a police investigation hanging over Bissouma after he was arrested under suspicion of sexual assault in October and was released under investigation. He then played for Mali at the African Cup of Nations; he continues to await the outcome of the police case.

  1. Tough one this, without the allegation over his head I’d like to think we would have snapped him up. First instinct was to say dithering Dave has made an error but given the allegation if he’s found guilty it’s a big chunk of money wasted. Dodged a bullet maybe?

  2. Like we said before, if it were true that DM rejected him that was blind incompetence but now if Conte has picked him up that confirms and compounds it. Embarrassing..

  3. It’s a no from me got enough hassles with Zouma tbh

  4. This window is going from bad to worse. Cant help it, just full of despair!

  5. Didn’t know about the investigation, maybe we have dodged a bullet ? Either way it’s striking that Spuds who never get deals done early are doing that so far, dithering Dave and Sully still mucking around, will probably be the last club in the Prem to get a deal done, Areola who is sort of our player we can’t even get his deal done due to more mucking about and Sully wanting another loan deal…

  6. Seems that Brighton are keen to offload him, so maybe there’s more to the allegations??
IMHO there are plenty of tough-tackling, energetic central mid players available for less £s.
Focus on signing 2 top attackers and a back up Left-back…please
