Tottenham Hotspur appear ready to test West Ham’s resolve to hang on to midfielder Mateus Fernandes by offering a sweetener in the form of a loan deal for one of their brightest young talents.
The inclusion of Mikey Moore in any potential deal would be a significant bonus given how well the 18-year-old performed during his recent loan spell.
Moore’s Stock Is Rising
Spending the 2025-26 season with Rangers, Moore quickly adapted to senior football.
He became a regular at Ibrox, making 47 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals, providing four assists and winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.
His time in Glasgow showed that he can cope with the physical demands of senior football whilst still producing moments of quality.
Because of that progress, Moore’s market value has reportedly risen to around €18 million, making him one of Tottenham’s most highly-rated young players.

A Tempting Sweetener
Whilst Rangers would reportedly like to bring Moore back for another season, Tottenham have consistently maintained that he remains part of their long-term plans.
However, allowing him to join West Ham on a season-long loan could prove to be a very useful bargaining chip.
For Nuno, Moore would add pace, creativity and another attacking option for what promises to be a tricky adjustment to the Championship. With Crysencio Summerville likely to leave East London this summer, it’s a move which would at least provide some decent cover.
Fernandes Price Won’t Change
The inclusion of Moore could also prove to be a significant factor in Tottenham attempting to beat Manchester United to Fernandes’ signature.
But one thing remains clear.
West Ham are expected to stand firm on their £80-85 million valuation of the Portuguese midfielder, irrespective of whatever carrots are dangled to sweeten the package.
How is that a sweetener if he was part of a straight forward swap plus cash deal then that’s a sweetener not a loan
If they want him we should demand Archie Gray as part of the deal, not on loan but permanently. If they do sign Tonali and Fernandes then Gray will be third or 4th choice and he is too good for that and to be honest their team, DeZerbi doesn’t fancy him, god only knows why as he was their best player most games I watched them.
Moore on a permanent, plus ££65-70m would make sense. Lads going to be a top player. Very direct, would suit Nuno down to the ground. If it’s a loan then the full £80m please.
I don’t know much about him but if he is good a swap in the deal maybe good, but not a loan as at the end of ghe season we still need another player. Ofcourse a buying option in the deal also could be done.

Mikey Moore is a great up and coming player. If Nuno thinks he will fit the system we need to get him in.
Our central midfield is seriously lacking creativity.
Lucas Bergvall at Tottenham should certainly be one who should be talked about in a swap deal but nobody is mentioning.
He is a squad player there and is highly impressive on the ball. If we lose our most creative midfielder in Fernandes from this year, someone who can make things happen is a must.

Is he any better than, Orford, Potts or Earthy? Can he displace Kante and Magassa? Soucek is likely to be retained too. Perhaps by at least meeting the asking price might be worth considering first and foremost N17!
A loan deal for a youth player , talented as he may be is not any kind of sweetener. If he was included as a transfer then maybe, but he is still unproven. We have many quality youth players that still don’t get a game , we don’t need another
Well the answer to your first part is yes! Neither Potts, Earthy or Orford have ripped it up anywhere near the level of Rangers
Spurs have a few Decent Candidates for a loan .
Mikey wouldn’t be a replacement for Fernandez.
Basic research would provide better Middfield for Championship
There is no difference between this currant spurs board and Levy man city have just agreed to pay one hundred and sixteen million pounds for a Nottingham forest player and spurs are haggling with west ham over eighty million pounds
First and foremost, Spurs are not currently in a position to compete with Man City, either in terms of footballing quality on the pitch or financially. West Ham are dreaming if they genuinely think Spurs or Man Utd are going to spend £80 million on this player. If they get £60–65 million, they’ll be lucky.
